Situated 4 hours south of Perth in Western Australia, Margaret River is a surfer’s dream but it’s also a wine lover’s paradise. The maritime climate means that the grapes planted here quite simply get near perfect ripening seasons every year. The region is predominantly planted to classic Bordeaux varieties like Cabernet, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc but Chardonnay also thrives here. In recent years there’s been several other varieties planted in Margaret River with Tempranillo & Grenache performing very well.
