Chardonnay shines in this Terroir Pack!
Domaine Henri Delagrange Hautes-Cotes de Beaune Blanc comes from the vineyards above their estate in Volnay. Aromas of white flowers combine with wild honey; a great complex aroma. In the mouth, the elegance is pure, pleasant, retaining the freshness of the grape variety without becoming too rich. Yes, it’s peaches and melons but creamy and that wild honey aromatic lift is enticing.
Santolin’s Gladysdale Chardonnay hails from the high vineyards in the Upper Yarra. 2018 vintage was warm and long in the Yarra Valley. The quality of fruit was by and large excellent so it comes as no surprise that Santolin got it right too. This is textural, peaches, melons, red apples, citrus and minerality. It’s taut, just stopping short of racy because the middle palate shows nutty, pastry-like (short-bread) toastiness and there’s some oak influence on flavour. Put simply, it’s yummo.
Moorooduc Estate Chardonnay is a blend of fruit from Moorooduc’s own estate vines. On the palate, the fruit and savoury flavours vie for attention and combine with the creamy texture, crisp, citrusy acid and long lingering stone fruit on the finish.
