BK Wines “Gower” Pinot Noir 2017

The 2017 hits the nostrils with loads of red cherry, woody herbs, fresh orange skin and just a touch of undergrowth. The palate sings with cherry berry flavours, crisp acidity, textural edges and plenty of floral complexity. Again, like the 2017 Swaby, this is about high notes, with great balance of fruit, texture, length and brightness. It’s a testament to how good vintage 2017 is when handled with a deftness. Made using 100% whole bunches it’s by no means green and stemmy, as the stemminess plays a lovely understated supporting role of spice and pepper. It might be the best Gower yet.
