100% Lenswood Pinot Noir, wild yeasts, nine months in 100% new French oak, 12 months in bottle, only one barrel produced.
Mike Bennie of Wine Front, 91 Points, writes, “Barrel selection and fruit from Lenswood in Adelaide Hills. Pinot noir from Brendon and Kirstyn Keys. Smoky notes, red cherry, red berry, whiff of herbs, spicy. Nice fragrance, good volume of it too. In palate, light on, sour-sweet, has fine feathery tannins that spread well and finish the wine in a mouth-watering chomp. Good drink, albeit feels simple in fruit profile. That being said, some svelte, athletic appeal in restraint too. Good.”
Brendon Keys is a freethinking frontier wine-maker. His wines are cutting edge, yet they are the very definition of modern Australian quality winemaking. Brendon does do things a bit differently but always with great control and purpose.
