Chateau Peyrat Graves Rouge 2015

$43.00

Winery tasting notes: This is an accessible, tobacco-scented, earthy Graves red, with up-front, plummy fruit, wild herbs, and clear mineral elements. Simple and fresh, this is traditional “lunchtime claret”, Merlot-dominated, and unadorned with oak.

This is a brilliant ruby colour with a spicy fresh nose, grilled meats & blackcurrant. It’s straight, fresh and spicy on the palate with notes of nutmeg, hazelnut, fresh red fruits and tobacco showing minerality and drive.

More Information

85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon blend from Graves. Château Peyrat is actually a Clos of 17 hectares situated in the commune of Cérons, in the heart of the traditional AOC of Graves.

Peyrat, meaning “stone” in the old local dialect, benefits from an exceptional position within the Graves AOC, having a mixed gravel soil with limestone, clay, and stones.

This geographical advantage imparts freshness, minerality and finesse to the wines.
