Domaine Melody Crozes-Hermitage Blanc Cuvee L’Exception 2017

What a revelation. Made from 70% Marsanne and 30% Roussanne. It attacks with textural, nutty but very floral aromatics that intermingle with fresh baked biscuits, peach/melon, lemon curd and wild honey. The palate is mid-weighted and shows loads of textural complexity. White flowers, wild honey, minerality, leesy peach and melon then there are stone fruits and just a lick of vanilla from 20% new oak. This finishes with a beautifully alive acid zest that makes it salivatingly moreish. Superb value.

More Information

The dynamic couple Marlène Durand and Mark Romak joined owner Denis Larivière in 2010 to begin making wines from the estate. Before that, Denis sold all his fruit to the cooperative of Cave de Tain.

The 2010 was made in their garage.

With Marlene and Mark, Denis has found two young winemakers with quality at the forefront of their desires. They now own 16.5 Ha of vines in Crozes-Hermitage planted to Syrah, Marsanne and Roussanne.

The vineyards are worked to organic principles and the fruit is handled with the greatest of care in the winery using a gentle vibrating sorting table to ensure only the best berries go into the ferments.
