Familia Cassone “Obra Prima” Malbec Reserva 2017

$40.00

Tim Jackson MW, jancisrobinson.com, “Saturated black-purple. Violet lift to ripe blackberry fruit, with cinnamon, black pepper and some fresh-leather complexity. Plush plum and blackberry fruit, pepper and some meat, with a firm tannic backbone. Could hold this comfortably for a few years.” GV (TJ)

More Information

The Cassone family settled in Mendoza, Argentina in the 19th century after moving from Piemonte in northern Italy. Grape growing is in their blood.

The majority of the vineyards are ninety years old now and are located in the prime Drummond area of Luján de Cuyo in Southwest Mendoza, 950 metres above sea level. The wines are fermented in their High-tech winery before ageing in French oak barrels. These are wonderful wines that marry modern freshness of fruit with structure and complexity.
