Our Pinot Noir pack offers six wines that are from small family run wineries, most are single vineyard sites highlighting the varieties ability to express where its from. They all share a hands-on low-intervention approach in the vineyard and the winery, resulting in wines that are full of character.  And yes, they are indeed all delicious and captivating!

Moorooduc Estate Robinson Vineyard Pinot Noir 2016

Winery notes: "This wine is made from specially selected fruit from Hugh and Isabelle Robinson’s vineyard on the Old Moorooduc Road. Our single vineyard Estate wines celebrate the individual character of certain special sites around the Moorooduc area. Bright garnet in colour, this wine has delightfully pure fruited red cherry aromas, a touch of dark cocoa and a savoury sweet note of deliciously cured pork/jamon. On the palate, firm tannins and tangy cherry and pomegranate fruit are elegantly balanced with the acid. Less floral than previous Robinson pinots, but with a touch more savoury complexity, and a lovely silky and long finish.

Kate Hill Pinot Noir 2015

Sourced from a single vineyard in the upper Derwent Valley. A low yielding vintage aids optimum ripeness & producers a lifted, savoury nose of rich berries and plums with hints of mint. On the palate it’s rich velvety & round.  Superb cool climate Tassie fruit from a superb cool climate part of the world.

Santolin Gladysdale Pinot Noir 2016

A special single site in the Upper Yarra Valley. Hand-picked, open pot ferments using wild yeast. 15% whole bunch, 85% whole berries, 100% beautiful French Oak (30% new) then aged on lees in barrel for 10 months. The best of modern Australian winemaking from one of our favourite regions.

First Foot Forward Pinot Noir Yarra Valley 2019

The 2019 Pinot Noir is from a vineyard in Coldstream (Yarra Valley Floor). This sub-region is known for a more savoury style of Pinot but with careful vine canopy management and good timing of the picking at harvest, the red cherry fruit can be brought to the fore. A long and gentle post ferment maceration brings the fine tannins to support this fruit. Wild yeasts did the fermenting before a long and gentle soak on skins to build the fine tannin structure that supports the red cherry fruit. A lick of new oak frames the wine and brings some wonderful complexity all round.

Campbell Mattinson - October 2020

Excellent release!

It pulls you this way and that but this is both a complex offering and a good one. Sweet cherry-plum flavours meet undergrowth, leafy spice, red currant and brick dust. Tannin is fine and well - threaded and it finishes with a satisfying kick-on of flavour. Its very good for both quality and value.

Quartz Reef Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017

“Divine ruby red in colour with intense cherry and berry aromas. Rich on the palate with dark cherry, subtle floral and herbaceous notes. Excellent depth, fine tannins and a long vibrant finish.” Rudi Bauer, who continues to explore Pinot Noir’s many dimensions, and the convergence of the old and the new wine worlds. Certified as Bio-Dynamic.

Hatherleigh Pinot Noir 2015 (95JH)

95 Points, James Halliday 2020 Wine Companion, "Hatherleigh Pinot Noir 2015 (14%, screwcap). Some development of the mid garnet hue. A flicker and cherries and pips, wood char and spice as it heads into more savoury territory. Medium bodied yet decisive. Grippy Tannins, somewhat terse, but some sweet fruit coming through. It ends up refreshing and convincing.
