Domaine Dumien Serrette Cornas Cuvee Patou 2018

100% Shiraz from a 1.5 Ha site in Cornas.

93 Points, Decanter Magazine, Tasted by Matt Walls(at 2017 En primeur tastings, Rhône Valley, 01 Nov 2018)Part of Best value Rhône 2017 wines,Always a wine of great finesse and individuality, this is sourced from 80-year-old, low yielding vines grown on granite, and fermented in concrete tanks with daily pumping over before being aged in old barriques. It has a good sense of purity and depth, with a touch of varnish over the expressive red fruits. Medium-bodied, brisk and energetic in style, this works on acidity as well as fine, fairly dry tannins to create structure and add freshness. No excesses or artifice here, just the rapacious fruit." - Drinking Window 2019 - 2028

(91-93) points, Joe Czerwinski, robertparker.com, "This microproducer draws fruit from 80-year-old vines in the lieu-dit of Patou. The 2017 Cornas Patou is full-bodied and intense, with an attractive dusty texture of chalk dust, charcoal and crushed stone. Red currant and cassis aromas and flavors complement those stony elements, picking up a bit of cracked pepper on the finish."

Nathalie Falmet Cuvee Brut NV

The current ‘Cuvee Brut’ is made from 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 20% reserve wines. This is the only vintage made from an assembly of reserve wine mostly from vintage 2014. This intriguing Champagne reveals tons of brilliance in a focused, powerful style. Vinification: 100% in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats. Harvest: 30% solera and 70% 2014 harvest. Dosage at disgorgement: 4 to 5 g / L

Chateau Phelan-Segur Saint-Estephe Bordeaux 2015

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot from AOC Saint-Estephe.

James Suckling 94 points – This has an air of authority with pristine red fruits, cassis and leafy aromas that lead to a palate with a powerful core of fine, long and fresh tannins. Plenty of ageing potential here. Try from 2025.

Jancis Robinson - 17.5/20 - "Dark crimson. Sweet, 'modern' and beguiling. Very different from most St-Estèphes. Luxurious and not that typical of the appellation but certainly seems designed to score points! Rich. Just the right side of chocolatey. Bone-dry finish."
