Folonari Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2016

$165.00

The wine shows intense red berry aromas with leather notes on the nose and palate. The wine is full-bodied with high acidity, polished tannins and a long finish. A Brunello of considerable aging potential, matured for a total of 4 years in cask and bottle before release. A full-bodied wine with firm and velvety tannins and a juicy texture on the palate. A concentrated taste and a long length.

More Information

Brunello la Fuga perfectly represents the territory where it is born. In fact, the southwest exposure towards the Tyrrhenian Sea and the soils rich in sediments of the historic area of Camigliano enrich the Sangiovese grapes of Tenuta la Fuga with polyphenols, content of which increases thanks to the long aging in 25hl oak barrels. Its tasting shows a fascinating and engaging character as only Brunello can reveal.
This estate, owned by Folonari since 2001, is the smallest of all the family estates with 9.8 hectares of vineyards and about 2 hectares of olive groves. The vineyards of Tenuta la Fuga are divided into three lots ranging from an average age of about 30 years up to the youngest of 10 years. The farmhouse is spread over three levels: in the basement there is the wine-making cellar, at the intermediate level the barrel room while on the first floor the accommodation area characterised by a terrace overlooking the surrounding landscape.
