Both the sleepy hills of Cahors and the momentous snow-capped Andes mountain range give the grapes its pretty aromatics through high altitude viticulture. A long slow growing season gives true ripeness, hot summers allow for sweet juice & super cold winters for the freshness in the form of natural acidity. These are the ingredients for great quality cold climate reds, and this is what Malbec requires to become great! Familia Cassone is the definitive spicy, fresh mulberry conserve style of Argentinean Malbec where as Troteligotte is from the new guard of young French wine makers not using any Sulfur & fermented in Amphora making for a less traditional approach yet a delicious moreish wild strawberry style.

Clos Troteligotte "K-or" 2017

Emmanuel paints the "K" on the K-or label here red because he cherishes the "bloody" aromas this wine gives off upon opening. this 100% Malbec is rich with a dusty tannic character. It has black-currant flavors that are packed with both fruitiness and balanced acidity. The organic grapes give a pure line of ripe fruits that are going to integrate well with the tannins.

K-Or is the most obviously mineral wine in Emmanuel's line-up. Grapes are harvested early for appellation standards and fermented/aged in unlined concrete squares.

Familia Cassone "La Florencia" Malbec 2018

The Cassone family settled in Mendoza, Argentina in the 19th century after moving from Piemonte in northern Italy. Grape growing is in their blood.

The majority of the vineyards are ninety years old now and are located in the prime Drummond area of Luján de Cuyo in Southwest Mendoza, 950 metres above sea level. The wines are fermented in their High-tech winery before ageing in French oak barrels. These are wonderful wines that marry modern freshness of fruit with structure and complexity.
