Huon Hookes Wines of the week July 1st 2020

This is the ‘regular’ Moorooduc pinot but it’s outstanding value. (There are three dearer single-vineyard wines). It’s blended from several vineyards in the Moorooduc locality.

Deep colour, the bouquet rich and ripe with dark-chocolate, dark berry, floral and vanilla aromas with a foresty high-note. Velvet-textured, dense, concentrated and fleshy, the aftertaste long-lasting. The mouth-feel is a feature. An impressive wine. (Screwcap)

First Foot Forward Chardonnay 2019

Campbell Mattinson  - 94 Points - October 2020

Chardonnay from the Upper Yarra.

Love this. It's going to mature beautifully over the next few years. It just has that feel, that structure, that length. It tastes of nectarine and meal, chalk, fennel and sweet cedar. It feels fresh, direct and pure but it's by no means underdone. Match this to chicken dinner and you're a winner winner here.
