Juxtaposed Old Vine Grenache 2021

$36.00

Without a doubt this could well be Australia’s best valued Grenache! An Exciting wine, from the hands of winemaker Wes Pearson.

This Grenache comes from two top vineyards in McLaren Vale: one planted over 90 years ago in the Clarendon sub-region, and the other in Blewitt Springs. The value on offer here is outstanding.

It strikes that elusive balance between finesse and power effortlessly. If you like Grenache while it’s rippling with primary fruit, there is plenty of good reasons to grab yourself a bottle now!

More Information

A sumptuous wine teeming with raspberry coulis, dried herbs, Seville orange and white pepper accents. Yet I can’t extricate my senses from the whiff of smaller oak, used to be sure, but still palpable with its scent of sweet mocha from attack to finish. It adds that little bit of clutter, obfuscating the purity of site, the redoubtable quality of the fruit and the hand behind the wine while drying the finish. 93 Points – Ned Goodwin MW (Halliday Wine Companion)

92 Points – “Red fruit, nougat oak shows its hand (like a Montelimar from a box of Milk Tray, though don’t mind me), mint, some ginger and spice. Juicy red fruits, mint/dill and a saline character, creamy chalk dust tannin, and the structure here is very good, but gee that oak comes as something of a surprise to me, and at present it’s a bit distracting, though maybe it will be fine and dandy for others. Anyway, seductive style, offering fruit of excellent quality. It may settle down with some more time in bottle.” – Gary Walsh (The Wine Front)
