More Information
Les Freres Couillaud purchased the Domaine de la Ragotiere in 1978 on the western fringe of the Loire Valley. Planted to schist & mica schist soils, the white grapes of the appellation of Muscadet are known as Melon de Bourgogne, or simply Melon. Melon produces high acid, fresh and bright whites that are aged on lees (sue lie, pronounced “sir lee”) for extended periods to add texture and approachability at a young age. Ragotiere Muscadets are the perfect match with shell fish, fresh, natural oysters particularly but will complement any seafood or white meats.
Les Freres Couillaud Domaine de la Ragotiere Muscadet is a great value classically made Muscadet from Sevre-et-Maine in the western Loire valley.
