La Belle Pierre translates to English as The Beautiful Stone…a product of a cooperative vigneron enterprise founded in 1914 in the Languedoc-Roussillon. These wines shine with great fruit purity, complexity & excellent quality for the price.
La Belle Pierre Vins De Pays Du Gard Blanc 2018 – While this is an unusual blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay it certainly makes for great drink. There’s a hint of tropical fruit but the nose is essentially passion fruit, citrus & peach. The palate is really well balanced with freshness and zestiness, passion fruit, peach and melons sitting in amongst a delightful lemon curd mid palate that leads to a touch of wild honey & passion fruit butter. A melange of fruit and a really good value dry white from the south of France.
La Belle Pierre Vins De Pays Du Gard Rosé 2020 – This 100% Grenache wine from the Mediterranee IGP region in the south of France (basically Provence) sings with a delightfully dry minerality with a mid palate of strawberries-and-cream that flows on to a finish that has white peach, citrus & a fresh minerally appeal. Beautifully Provencal in spirit and so pale salmon in colour…what more do you want?!
La Belle Pierre Vins De Pays Du Gard Rouge 2020 – This Cabernet franc, grenache, merlot & cabernet sauvignon blend is bright purple in colour with violet hues. The nose of black fruits flows onto a palate that is round and silky, soft and fruity and a great BBQ wine indeed. Silver Medal at the National Wine Competition
